Objective
Checkmate the opponent’s king.
Setup
- Each player starts with 16 pieces
- The pieces are placed on the first two rows
How to Play
- Players take turns, moving one piece at a time
- Each piece moves differently
- If a piece lands on a square occupied by an opponent’s piece, that piece is captured
- The king can never remain in check
Piece Movement
- Pawn: moves forward (captures diagonally)
- Rook: moves in straight lines
- Knight: moves in an “L” shape
- Bishop: moves diagonally
- Queen: moves in any direction
- King: moves one square in any direction
End of the Game
The game ends when one of the kings is in checkmate, meaning it cannot escape capture.
